Paul Gayton Joins Home Gas Team

Mr. Paul Gayton has been hired by Home Gas Ltd to serve as their new Operations Manager. With more than 13 years experience in the propane industry, Mr. Gayton brings considerable experience and understanding with him to the job. General Manager Dayne Brady said, "As our Operations Manager, Paul’s substantial knowledge and training will enable Home Gas to continue offering our customers the best service and latest in propane technology available." The early years of Mr. Gayton's career were spent with Ferrellgas and AmeriGas, which are two of the largest propane companies in the United States. His role with those companies included multiple positions — everything from delivering cylinders to serving as a Service Technician and Operations Manager. Eventually he was promoted to District Manager and then to General Manager of AmeriGas’ Customer Service Center in Weatherford, Texas. In his role as Operations Manager with Home Gas, Mr. Gayton is responsible for safely executing the day-to-day operations; coaching, training and managing the staff; generating new business, and implementing customer service procedures. He will also work closely with the entire Home Gas team to assure strict adherence to all propane safety regulations. Throughout the years, Mr. Gayton has received extensive certifications in propane safety by completing courses in the Certified Employee Training Program (CETP) and Regulations such as NFPA 58 and NFPA 54 governing the storage, handling, transportation and installation of Liquid Petroleum-Gas and Fuel Gas. Mr. Gayton's previous experience also included managing the setting up of large underground distribution systems to deliver propane on demand to homes in large communities. "Large underground tanks buried within a subdivision with gas mains and individual meters set to each house is an excellent way to provide gas safely and efficiently to homeowners within a complex," said Mr. Gayton. "We provide turnkey installations for builders to enable a larger gasflow to their multi-family residential development." This same kind of set-up is certainly a real bonus here. Even in hurricane strength winds, an underground propane tank remains secure, so the tank won't float away," said Mr. Gayton. "It's safer plus it's more aesthetically pleasing. Plus tanks last longer below the ground than they do above ground, so it's environmentally greener to bury the tank as well." Mr. Gayton enjoys the wide diversity of our islands and the friendliness of the people he has met here. Life here varies in many ways from the lifestyle he had back in Texas, and he is especially delighted by Caymanian cuisine, music and culture. "My wife is trying out callaloo recipes with scotch bonnets and so far, so good!" It is the first time he has worked for a propane company that is supplied gas received as a discharge from a vessel in the sea. "It's exciting to see the technology Home Gas has used in ensuring its plant is the safest possible. Propane benefits people's lives here in so many ways. Not only does propane allow you to cook, heat water, light your homes and businesses, and other things - even in a power outage - it also reduces your power bill and is much cleaner for the environment.”
